Rear mounted 970cc, water-cooled, 4 cylinder, 4 stroke belt driven overhead cam. Cast iron cylinder block, aluminium cylinder head. Single Mikuni side draught carburettor.
Gearbox
4 speed, all synchromesh. Rod actuated gear linkage.
Cable operated clutch.
Brakes
Front disc brakes, rear drums. Tandem master cylinder, no servo assistance.
Suspension
Front: Double wishbone type independent suspension with coil springs, with anti-roll bar acting as the lower forward link.
Rear: Independent suspension with coil springs and trailing arms.
Steering
Rack and Pinion type, no power assistance.
Wheels
12 inch steel wheels with 145/70R12 tyres as standard.
Data
Engine: 47 bhp at 5,000 rpm; 62lb/ft torque at 2,800 rpm.
Performance: 0-60 in 16.5 seconds, 87 mph top speed, published figure. (feels faster).

Bagpuss was rather unfair when asked to describe the 0-60 time of an SC100
Fuel consumption: 41.9 mpg urban; 56.5 mpg at 56 mph; 40.0 mpg at 75 mph.
These are published government figures, but are fairly accurate.
Fuel grade: 95RON unleaded.
